Not at all but intense pain is a small rare except during flare ups. It is a frequent affliction. I diagnosed several circumstances amongst Marine recruits i the 1980s about 80-90% were able to finish boot camp and grow to be Marines (whether or not they wanted to or not). I have it, a mild case it usully worsens over time but I quit playing basketball at the age of 33 and it quit bothering me, I am 47 and it seems to have quit degenerating.

It isn't at all uncommon among young ladies. You probably know somebody with it, though it may not be diagnosed yet.
